The Hill Country Rose Chapter #26 supports the Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp #1938. Either women or men can be members and the beauty of the Rose is that you do not have to have any Confederate ancestors, just a love of the South. We currently have 23 members.
Chapter 26 was organized in late 2001 by Jane Ginn, wife of Camp 1938 founder Joe Ginn. Those present with Jane were Eileen Lehmberg, Director of TSOCR, Mailyn Dunbar, Kay Clark, Bonnie Baseke, Midge Goldsborough, among others. Jane remained Chapter Director until 2012 when her health required she relinquishment her duties . Bonnie Taylor assumed Jane's position.
Our Roses have been meeting for lunch about every other month. The next luncheon meeting will be Wed. May 4th at Bella Sera in the Best Western Motel in Kerrville at 11:30. We will be discussing how we can help the SCV camp with the upcoming State Convention in June 2016. Our Roses are in charge of the OCR Meeting and Ladies Tours. We have also volunteered to make about 100 goodie bags for the OCR members. There will also be a silent auction where all proceeds will benefit the SCV camps. We have also volunteered to decorate the tables for the luncheon and dinner. We welcome new members. For application forms please go to the TSOCR website: https://sites.google.com/site/txsocr/applications. The State dues are $10 a year. Our chapter does not collect Chapter dues.
